The student movement played an important role in the Brazilian scenario between 1964 and 1979 as it represented a significant focus of resistance against the arbitrariness committed by the civil-military dictatorship, both in the political and social spheres, and in the educational sphere. A very relevant facet of this movement was the work of the DCEs (Central Student Directories) and CAs (Academic Centers) of public universities located in different states. From a documentary collection about the DCE of the Fluminense Federal University (Niterói-RJ), whose name (Fernando Santa Cruz) pays homage to a student who disappeared and was killed by the Dictatorship, it was possible to identify the existence of a large and silent network of solidarity and exchange (of experiences, information and help) between these student representation bodies (DCEs and CAs), revealing a valuable and hitherto unknown enemy of the military regime.
