In this article, we explore the possible intersection of literature, learning, migration, and a playful approach. We begin by clarifying three premises: that it is possible and pertinent to adopt a playful approach to serious subjects; to approach literature in the classroom through play; and to approach literature, learning and migration through the prism of play. We then propose five essential pedagogical principles for successful playful praxis. We conclude by identifying five practical avenues for the language, literature or cultural mediation classroom.
