The Geography is the study of the planet Earth through the phenomena that compose it, an important concept for the evolution of geographic thought is epistemology, which is the study of the different philosophical currents of geography. The objective of the study was to describe the precursors of Geography (Primitive Geography and Pre-Greek Geography), managing to epistemologically support contents for Geography Teaching classes at different educational levels. Geography can be divided initially into primitive geography and pre-Greek geography. Pre-Greek geography was very focused on practical issues, within Greek geography we have the first civilizations, these civilizations were called: NileRiver civilization, Mesopotamia and Hebrews. Pre-Greek geography, in addition to focusing on migrations, focuses on travel reports made by travelers. The fundamental basis for doing geography is acquired through the knowledge of Geographical Schools and their contributions to the insertion of the space variable and the time variable, with Primitive and Pre-Greek Geography being the precursors of all schools of Geography. It was seen throughout the article that many of the concerns of the "first geographers" are still present in everyday life, especially the question "where?", being a necessary reflection for Geography teachers to mediate the student's experience with geographic thinking.
