This article explores the use of drawing as a pedagogical-methodological tool in Geography teaching, addressing the importance of visual resources for understanding complex geographical concepts. In this article, I share my experience as a Geography teacher in public schools in São Paulo, where I adopted the practice of incorporating drawings on the blackboard as a way of facilitating student learning, especially when teaching abstract concepts in Physical Geography. The use of drawings and geographical representations allows students to develop a better spatial understanding, stimulates creativity and increases engagement in lessons. In addition, it is important to highlight the positive impact of drawings on students' self-esteem and improved academic performance, as well as the need to balance the use of technological resources with so-called ‘traditional’ approaches such as drawing, especially in more complex subjects.
