Carolina Maria de Jesus and the reading of the world in the Dump Room: Wandering in the place of speech heading to the unheard viable

Abstract

Academic life allows us to get in touch with various authors. They inspire us in the theoretical and methodological study of our investigative fields in the areas of knowledge. With them, we dialogue and build possibilities of feeling, thinking, and actingin face of reality and the issues that are present in it. Even with this dialog (physical, virtual, and literary), reality impacts us in such a way that we are led to approach other authors whose readings are motivated, many times, by situations beyond academic life. I tell you that this is a very interesting experience. The purpose of this short text is to initiate approximations between Carolina Maria de Jesus and Paulo Freire, starting from the elements present in Quarto de Despejo and Pedagogia do Oprimido. Elementsthatenableustoread Quarto de Despejo in Pedagogia do Oprimido and Pedagogia do Oprimido in Quarto de Despejo. For me this is a challenging experience, full of limits and possibilities, but it is necessary because there are challenges in the pedagogical and social thought of Professor Paulo Freire, as well as in the daily life of the oppressed, and only through approximations with the creations of these characters will it be possible to widen the gaps and strengthen resistance within this system flooded by a rhetoric of hate. This task also has to do with the desire to collaborate with decolonial thinking, but that is a topic for a future conversation.
