This paper seeks to summarize the reflections of the author about the exchanges of energy and water between the surface and the atmosphere, revealed from their empirical experiences in the fields of micrometeorology and physical geography. The author disappoints about the misunderstanding on humidity and is surprised as relative measures may still appear noticeably amid the academic production. We propose a model of the daily cycle of absolute humidity linked to the daily cycle of the net all-wave radiation observed at the surface, which in turn consider the dynamics of the boundary layer.
Keywords: net radiation, vapour pressure, physical climatology.
