As Estações de Tratamento de Esgotos (ETE) geram impactos positivos ou negativos que repercutem sobre a vizinhança. Dentre os negativos, encontra-se a proliferação de odores ofensivos, um dos principais motivos de queixa contra as ETE. Assim, buscou-se desenvolver um estudo deste impacto por meio da análise da percepção da população vizinha à estação, utilizando-se um questionário próprio para a caracterização do problema O estudo foi desenvolvido no Conjunto Residencial Olho d´água, localizado no bairro de Cajueiro Seco, município de Jaboatão dos Guararapes, região metropolitana do Recife, no Estado de Pernambuco. O presente estudo, a luz de referencial teórico faz uma discussão sobre esses impactos e de que maneira é possível estabelecer ações mitigadoras para os mesmos. Foram avaliados o perfil socioeconômico e os aspectos socioambientais. Os resultados obtidos comprovaram a relevância do impacto estudado, já que a maioria dos entrevistados queixou-se de maus odores e ruídos atribuídos a ETE.
A B S T R A C T
The Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) generate positive or negative impacts on the neighborhood. Among the negative, is the proliferation of offensive odors, one of the main grievances against the STPs. Thus, sought to develop a study of this impact by the perception of the neighboring to the station, using a questionnaire itself to characterize the problem STP. The study was conducted in Conjunto Residencial Olho d´água, located in Cajueiro Seco, Jaboatão dos Guararapes, metropolitan area of Recife, state of Pernambuco. This study, the light of the theoretical framework is a discussion of these impacts and how you can establish mitigating actions to them. They evaluated the socioeconomic profile and the social and environmental aspects. The results confirmed the relevance of the impact studied, since most of the respondents complained of bad odors and noise attributed to STP.
