The synoptic analysis is essential to the understanding of events and/or phenomena that occur in the atmosphere and are often directly related impacts to society, such as tropical cyclones, which cause excessive rainfall and strong winds. In the year 2015 an intense tropical cyclone formed over the Indian Ocean and move east entered the Arabian Peninsula, reaching devastating form Yemen. Given the above, this study has two objectives: a synoptic analysis of the cyclone life cycle Chapala and checking the impact of the cyclone caused in atmospheric variables in Yemen and Socotra archipelago. Therefore, the zonal and meridional components of the wind data were used, geopotential height, air temperature, low pressure at mean sea level and relative humidity obtained from the Global Forecast System Analysis. The Chapala cyclone life cycle was analyzed in three stages: cyclogenesis (12Z of the day October 27, 2015), maturity (12Z of the day October 30, 2015) and decay (12Z day November 3, 2015). At maturity it is when the system has the highest temperature deviations in the nucleus relative to the external environment. Upon arriving to Yemen, the decay, the cyclone caused rains and strong winds.
