Abstract

The support services available in the ecosystems of the Brazilian Amazon Forest translate into direct and indirect benefits of natural resources essential for life, providing various goods and ecosystem services, which benefit society by providing human well-being as habitat, regulating the climate, drinking water and food. In this way, the support service directly contributes to the formation of the soil and its fertility; nutrient cycling; primary production; and seed dispersal and pollination, which contribute to the biological biodiversity of the Amazon Rainforest. In this sense, the objective of this study was to quantify the change in land use and occupation in the phytoecological composition of the Amazon under the support service in Sinop and Alta Floresta (MT) in the period 1990 and in the year 2020. To carry out the work, the synthesis method of impact assessment on ecosystem support services (SAISES) was used with two scenarios: (I) loss of up to 50% of vegetation compromises the availability of the support service; (II) loss of more than 80% of vegetation has a negative impact on the provision of ecosystem services, and for the possibility of restoration, I use the average index (NDVI, year 2020).The results of the analyzes showed that changes occurred in Alta Floresta of 452,808 hectares, in Sinop 165,771 hectares. Compared to 1990, land use was smaller, Alta Floresta accounted for 166,405 hectares and Sinop 62,340 hectares. We concluded that there were changes in all phytoecological categories of the Amazon Forest in the municipalities of Alta Floresta and Sinop.
