Entre a cidade alta e a fazenda de Pau d’Arco: uma leitura de Brandão entre o mar e o amor

In 1941, Graciliano Ramos, Jorge Amado, José Lins do Rego, Rachel de Queiroz and Aníbal Machado began the collective writing of the novel Brandão between the sea and love, which was published on the pages of Diretrizesmagazine from August of that year until February 1942, resulting in an instigating work that has been reedited, but so far still raises little interest from the public and critics. Studies devoted to this novel are rare despite the reputation of that authors. This article aims to present an interpretation of that work, assessing aspects of the fictional construction.References
