Abstract

This article analyzes the approach of the lexicon in Grammatica secundaria da lingua portugueza (1924), by Manuel Said Ali. For this, we bring grammatization (AUROUX, 2014), the grammatization of the Portuguese language in Brazil to the discussion, and the study of the lexicon (ANTUNES, 2012; VILLALVA; SILVESTRE, 2014) in grammars. So, we analyze how lexical phenomena are present in Grammatica secundaria (1924), verifying the impacts that the climate of opinion had on the description of lexical knowledge. As results, we noticed a great influence of important names in linguistics, and traces of the historical-comparative current from the 19th century.
