Análise Termodinâmica e Frequência de Trovoadas entre os Anos de 2008 a 2012 em Maceió, Alagoas (Thermodynamic Analysis and Frequency of Thunderstorms in the Years 2008 to 2012 in Maceió, Alagoas)

A previsão do fenômeno adverso trovoada tem extrema importância para segurança de toda população em Alagoas e especialmente para transporte aéreo. A elaboração do método de previsão de trovoadas pelos métodos termodinâmicos é o objetivo principal do projeto. Foram utilizados os seguintes dados de: 1) Departamento de Controle do Espaço Aéreo (DECEA); 2) satélite TRMM (Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission); 3) Reanálise do National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP); e 4) modelo HYSPLIT. O estudo termodinâmico da estrutura da troposfera foi feita para todos os 70 casos observados com trovoada no período de 2008-2012. A comparação da frequência de trovoadas nestes 5 anos com os 10 anos anteriores (estudados antes), mostraram aumento da frequência entre dezembro e maio nos últimos anos de 6 eventos em 1998 a 21 eventos em 2008. O estudo termodinâmico foi baseado na análise dos perfis verticais previstos de temperatura e umidade. Esta previsão foi feita pelas trajetórias das parcelas de ar do modelo HYSPLIT nos 10 níveis padrões. A avaliação da qualidade dos perfis foi feito com auxílio dos índices de instabilidade. Os índices LI e CAPE+ mostraram os resultados satisfatórios e os índices K e TT mostraram resultados não satisfatórios na análise de ocorrência de trovoadas.
A B S T R A C T
The prediction of adverse phenomenon thunderstorm has extreme importance for the security of the entire population in Alagoas and especially for air transport. The development of prediction method of Thunderstorm by thermodynamic methods is the main objective of the project. The following data were used: 1) the conventional meteorological data from the Departamanto de Controle do Espaço Aéreo (DECEA); 2) lightning data from satellite TRMM (Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission); 3) reanalysis data from the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP); and; 4) HYSPLIT model. The thermodynamic study of the structure of the troposphere was done for all 70 cases with thunderstorm observed in the period of 2008-2012. The comparison of the thunderstorm frequency in these 5 years with the 10 previous years (studied before), showed increase of the frequency between December and May in the last years from 6 events in 1998 to 21 events in 2008. The thermodynamic study was based on analysis of vertical profiles of temperature and humidity. This prediction was made by the trajectories of air parcels in the HYSPLIT model in 10 levels. The evaluation of the quality of the predicted profiles was done with the instability indices. The indices LI and CAPE+ showed satisfactory results and the indices K and TT showed not satisfactory results in the analysis of incident of thunderstorms.
