Educational Management: The challenges of operating in dailyschool routine

Abstract

The educational management is presented as a leading role, notin the sense of being better than other functions, but because it demands many challenges and responsibilities. The present paper aims at a reflection regarding education management and the challenges of operating in the school daily routine. For this purpose, qualitative exploratory and field researches were conducted. In the Federal District and surroundings, interviews were conducted with some school managers who attend elementary school, Adult and Young Adult Education (EJA), high school and the Municipal Language Center. During the interviews, these managers presented their perspectives on the challenges they have to face. It is possible to realize that there are common situations for managers, such as the difficulty to establish an integrated partnership with families and, more specifically, the provision of public policies for education and problems with drug use in both elementary and high school
