The myth of Orpheus was revisited by Jorge de Lima (1958) in Invenção de Orfeu in an attempt to recover it in its multiple meanings in modernity. The poet dedicates an entire corner of his epic to the figure of the thracian citaredo, Canto VII – Audição de Orfeu, which we intend to devote our efforts to his analysis. In his poem the poet seeks to explore and transcend some of the possible significations of the greek myth, recreating it or simply agreeing with its ancient origin. In a new scripture, Jorge de Lima (1958) brings to modernity his reflections on the meaning of the myth and of Orpheus himself in the construction of his poem.References
