This paper seeks to discuss the death and decline of an era, in the novel Il Gattopardo, by Giuseppe Tomasidi Lampedusa, and in the homonymous film, produced by Luchino Visconti, observing the spatial aspect that highlights and characterizes this theme. The story is set in southern Italy, in the second half of the 19th century, and tells the story of an aristocratic family that witnesses social, political and historical changes with the unification of the Italian state.References
