A carnavalização em Macunaíma: uma leitura de Mário de Andrade sob a perspectiva de Bakhtin

Abstract

The objective of this work is to analyze the work Macunaima, by Mario de Andrade, from the point of view of the Theory of Carnivalization, by Mikhail Bakhtin. To this end, initially, we make a brief explanation about the idea of carnivalization, in order to prepare the reader with the theoretical tools necessary for the proposed analysis, followed by the application, to the narrative, of such a perspective, as a way of approaching Bakhtin's theory to Mario de Andrade's literary work. Despite the belief that a single theory would not be able to exhaust the dimensions of reading and interpretation of a literary work, especially one that has already become a “canon” of Brazilian Literature, especially of the Modernist movement, we expect to contribute to a deep analysis of one of the possible approaches to the work, taking the point of view of carnivalization.
