O presente trabalho tem como objetivo maior elaborar uma análise de uso da terra e cobertura vegetal, buscando ainda uma análise morfométrica da bacia hidrográfica do Ribeirão do Meio, que possui uma área de 227,89 km. Para a preparação da pesquisa foi elaborado um mapeamento da evolução do uso da terra nos anos de 1999 e 2010. Para o mapeamento foram utilizadas imagens do satélite Landsat 5, processadas com o auxilio do software SPRING 5.0.6 – INPE, conforme classificação proposta pelo manual de uso e ocupação da terra do IBGE (2006). Como resultados preliminares observam-se rápidas transformações da paisagem devido à expansão do setor agropecuário que vem substituindo a vegetação existente na região por pastagens, o que acarretaria em uma maior vulnerabilidade do solo devido à degradação que ocorre em toda a bacia. Como forma de amenizar os problemas encontrados, sugere-se um manejo sustentável das atividades, protegendo e/ou recuperando as áreas de preservação permanente e de reserva legal buscando aumentar a cobertura vegetal do solo para maior controle dos processos erosivos.

Analysis of the Use of the Land and Vegetal Covering in the Basin of the Ribeirão do Meio, Brasilândia/MS
ABSTRACT
The present work has as objective greater to elaborate an analysis of use of the land and vegetal covering, still seeking a morphometric analysis of the hydrographic basin of the Ribeirão do Meio, that possess a 227,89 area of km. For the preparation of the research a mapping of the evolution of the use of the land in the years of 1999 and 2010 was elaborated. For the mapping images of the satellite Landsat 5 had been used, processed with it assist of software SPRING 5.0.6 - INPE, as classification proposal for the use manual and occupation of the land of the IBGE (2006). As preliminary results, as preliminary results are seen rapidly changing landscape due to expansion of the agricultural sector that is replacing the existing vegetation in the region for pastures, what it would cause a bigger vulnerability of the ground due to degradation that occurs in all the basin. As form to brighten up the found problems, a sustainable handling of the activities is suggested, protecting and/or recouping the areas of permanent preservation and legal reserve searching to increase the vegetal covering of the ground for bigger control of the erosive processes.
