Os Lusíadas and Mensagem: two works in perspective

As an object of study the works Os Lusíadas and Mensagem, the present work aims to collate the main themes presented in each one of them. To this end, issues pertinent to space, the different connotations used for the kings who governed the country and the figure of myth, marked by D. Sebastião, will be highlighted. The aim, from this comparative analysis, is to highlight the fact that the same territory – from a geographic point of view – can present itself in different ways depending on the historical context in which it is described and the “representations” (Jobim, 2020) assigned to it.
