This article intends to investigate the code-switching in The Lord of the Rings, a trilogy written by J.R.R. Tolkien. Writer and philologist, he was the responsible for the creation of many languages, which are attributed to the characters according to their people and origins. The aim of this investigation is to describe the code-switching into this trilogy, trying to find some motivations and to identify its role inside the story.References
